Formerly known as the Royal and Sun Alliance, the insurance firm is planning to close the Birmingham office, putting 190 employees at risk or redundancy.
The business structure is under review with the site in Colmore Row expected to shut down and a new trading site to open in September. RSA are hoping to redeploy some staff where possible.
In a statement, a spokesman from RSA said “Following a review into our organisational structure and geographical footprint we have concluded that we could be working much more effectively and efficiently if teams doing the same kind of work, or focused on the same kinds of customers, are situated together.”
“This means we will be closing our existing office in Birmingham and replacing it with a new Commercial Trading Site which will continue to serve our local partners.”
The consultation period began yesterday (27th January).
